Leaving was easy. It was everything else that was so damned hard. "I've never opened up to anyone so fast." Hayden confessed to Chase. "I don't know why, not that I'm complaining, but I feel really close and safe with you." He smiled. “That’s good. I feel the same about you, you’re the first person ever to sit through and listen to my past without judging me or making me feel bad or unwanted.” He said. Chase continued with his story and when he got to the part when he mentioned the bras Hayden smiled and said back to him "Easier for the boy to unhook it though when getting ready to do the deed"
Chase laughed and winked. “You got me there. But I must admit it is easier for us and it makes it less awkward but I have a special technique with bras that hook at the back and it comes in handy.” Hayden asked if he had learned enough and he told her that he would prove his theory if she would let him. Her response to his fingers up and down her arms was, "Come on Chase, I've been so good lately." He scoffed. “You know, I think you have been good for too long and I can help you erase your ‘good streak’. He said moving closer to Hayden. Chase really didn’t care that they were sitting in the paddock, it was still early and no one would be able to see them.
He turned his attention back to Hayden when she said "Besides I've never done it with a boy I liked. Just senseless to try and reverse being bi when I first found out." His eyes softened. “I like you too. I just want this to be perfect. For the both of us. If you want to take it slow then we can. I’ll do whatever makes you happy.” Hayden replied by leaning closer and pressed her lips to Chase’s. She parted her lips then backed down letting Chase take the lead.
Without missing a beat, Chase kept their mouths parted and encouraged her to part them more. Chase had his hands everywhere all over her body. He kept it at this for a few moments before cranking it up a notch. He pulled away and made a series of light pecks all over her face. Her cheek, her nose, her ear, the side of her mouth. He then leaned down and started kissing her collarbone and neck. He pulled back and looked her in the eyes. Out of breath he seemed to ask her with his eyes if she wanted to keep going. Without waiting for an answer he dove back in. He went back in for her mouth. This time he gently laid her on her back and he straddled her like he was riding a horse.
He pressed himself into Hayden hoping he wasn’t over doing it but he wanted this girl and he wanted her now. He grinded his hips against hers and thrust his hand under her shirt exploring. They lay there like this for moments before Chase retracted his hand and grabbed the bottom hem and pulled. He hesitated gestured to his hand and whispered “Can I?”

A Miracle are those Little Things that Happen Every Day------------------------------------------------- “That’s good. I feel the same about you, you’re the first person ever to sit through and listen to my past without judging me or making me feel bad or unwanted.” Chase said. Hayden grinned and added, "I can't judge if I'm messed up." After some bra banter Chase ran his fingers up and down Hayden's arm she sighed and said, "Come on Chase, I've been so good lately." He half laughed and said, “You know, I think you have been good for too long and I can help you erase your ‘good streak’". Hayden stiffened a bit as he moved closer.
Hayden thought of a quick excuse, "Besides I've never done it with a boy I liked. Just senseless to try and reverse being bi when I first found out." Chase's eyes softened and Hayden breathed, 'maybe he'll let up' she thought to herself. Chase smiled and said, “I like you too. I just want this to be perfect. For the both of us. If you want to take it slow then we can. I’ll do whatever makes you happy.” Happy to not feel pressure Hayden leaned it to give him a kiss. Without a sound Chase picked-up the pass and began to kiss harder, faster. Hayden's eyes clutched together. Chase ran his lips across her body.
Hayden tensed again but Chase didn't feel it. He pushed Hayden down to her back and began to kiss harder. Hayden's breath quickened with nerves. Chase shoved his hands up Hayden's shirt and she felt her heart stop. They lay there frozen before he tugged at her shorts and whispered, “Can I?” She took the moment to wiggle out from under him. "Omigod" She whispered once she was standing. "That didn't just....." She began. She whirled around a raced for the stable.
Rolex was in the field and wasn't rideable. Hayden quickly considered her options. When Rolex was settling in the first few weeks Hayden had ridden Wink. A dapple gray mare. She rushed down the hall into the tack room and grabbed Wink's halter. She prayed for Wink to be in her stall. She was. "Yes" She whispered. She bridled Wink with lightning. Hayden threw off her ring, shoes, sunglasses, and bag and they tumbled across Wink's stall floor, coating themselves in wood-chips. Hayden quickly mounted Wink as soon as they were out of her stall.
She kicked Wink into a trot and when they hit the soft dirt a gallop. Wink's mane flew back into her face and she raced toward the Pinewood trail. Without looking back she galloped into the forest and down the trail. After 5 minutes of running she slowed Wink to a canter, then a trot. Hayden followed the trail and as they came around a corner the trees thinned and you could see miles across West Virginia.
She slowed Wink to a walk and tracked the trail with her eyes. It went along the ridge of the scenery for about another 10 feet then curved back into the woods. "Half way point" She murmured. She tied Wink to a near-by tree and felt her legs for warmth. After making sure Wink wasn't heated Hayden sat down by the ridge and let the cool breeze wash over her. She took a few deep breaths and let a single tear fall. "No more then one" She whispered to herself. But more came anyway.
"Why am I crying?" She yelled to nothing. 'Crying because a boy likes me' Hayden thought. She tucked her arms together, shielding her breasts and re-called the last time someone had done what Chase had just did. She shuddered thinking of the 48 year old father. Hayden crossed her legs and wiped away tears from her face. She almost hoped Chase wouldn't come after her but part of her wanted him too. She wasn't ready. She knew that much. Not here. Not now. No matter how strong she felt or this boy. She had just met him. She sighed and threw her head in her hands. ------------------------------------------------- But they Still Make you Smile until Your Face Hurts

Leaving was easy. It was everything else that was so damned hard. Hayden wiggled out from under Chase and he pushed back so he was sitting against the fence post. "Omigod" She whispered once she was standing. "That didn't just....." Hayden didn’t finish her sentence; she just whipped around and booked it towards the stables. Chase was so angry- not with her with himself. He stood up and angrily kicked the fence post. “Dammit, dammit dammit dammit!” He growled. He took all of his frustration out on the fence pole.
After a few more kicks to the pole, he noticed someone on a horse galloping away. Hayden. He slid to the ground and put his head in his hands. He had no clue why he had gone that far. He had never done that with anyone else so fast. Maybe it was because she was the first person to actually like him. Chase closed his eyes and just prayed. He hoped that she wouldn’t be offended by what he did and he hoped he hadn’t wrecked his chance with her.
Chase had let her go because he didn’t trust himself enough to know that he wouldn’t do something like that again. Also she probably just needed some time to herself to think- chase knew he did. He sat there for what seemed like ages before he decided what he was going to do. Chase would tack up Red and ride him for a regular session and if Hayden came back he was going to apologize to her and if she wasn’t back after he had untacked Red, he would go looking for her.
Chase slowly got up and went into the stables. He didn’t need to brush Red because he had just brushed him maybe a hour ago. Chase opened the stall and Red knowing something was wrong, nosed him and snorted. “Its ok boy, I screwed up its not your problem.” Chase whispered. He led him to the nearest set of crossties and quickly tacked him up.
Chase had grabbed his helmet and gloves and was putting them on while Red stood still waiting for a command from Chase. Chase grabbed the reins and led Red out to the outdoor jumping ring. He could care less about the jumping rules when there was no one here. The stables weren’t even open to other people yet! Chase mounted and started to warm Red up around the outside edge of the ring. They started at a posting trot and quickly switched to a canter. They cantered around the ring endless times before Chase asked Red to slow.
Red kept going at a canter. He wasn’t listening to Chase at all. He half-halted until he got Red back to a halt. Chase relaxed in the saddle for two minutes before Red started up again. Red bucked hard 4 times before he took off at a run. It wasn’t even a gallop; it was this uncontrollable run Red was going at. Chase had gathered up his reins and was trying to slow Red down. Red wasn’t listening at all. He put his head down and bucked again. Chase wasn’t ready for the buck and he flew out of the saddle and hit his head on the fence post. Chase’s view went completely black.

A Miracle are those Little Things that Happen Every Day------------------------------------------------- Slowly Hayden stood up. She wiped her shorts off and looked up at the sky. Clouds were forming in the distance. Hayden walked over to where she had knotted Wink to a tree and quickly released the knot. She held the ends of the reins and walked forward. In her bare feet she walked the trail. Wink padded along behind her, stopping everyone and awhile to eat. Hayden collected her thoughts, 'if Chase is back at the stable just explain that your not ready. if he still wants to then hes not right for you'. Hayden held her head high and leap over rocks and crushed sticks.
20 minutes later she was in the stable and there was no sign of Chase. She quietly untacked Wink and quickly felt her legs for heat again. She picked out Wink's hoofs and ran the hard brush over her body. She pushed her shoes back on, put her jewelry back on, and slung her bag over her shoulder again. After Hayden checked Wink's water and hay she let herself out of the stall. "Chase?" She called just load enough to echo. No response. She walked down the aisle and peeked in Red's stall. Red was out. Hayden whirled around and walked back up the aisle, through the side door to the pastures.
But Red wasn't in any pastures either. Hayden rubbed her hands together and walked away from the stable toward the parking lot. She headed for her car. For some reason she turned her head. Red was standing in the jumping arena. Fully tacked. With no one around. Hayden began to jog toward the arena and as she got closer saw a heap on the ground. She squinted for a moment trying to make out the figure. "CHASE" She screamed before her mind realized what it was. She broke into a sprint and flew across the parking lot.
She hopped the white fence and landed a few feet from Chase. She rushed toward him and shook him, "Chase? Can you hear me? Chase?" She said. She turned him onto his back and looked over his injuries. His lip was cut open and bleeding badly. Without thinking she pulled off her shirt. Leaving her black cut off tank top. She balled up her shirt and pressed it with force to Chase's lip. Hayden went over everything in her bag and pulled her water bottle from it. She poured water onto Chase's forehead. Trying to get him to wake. "Chase? Can you hear me?" She continued to say. ------------------------------------------------- But they Still Make you Smile until Your Face Hurts

Leaving was easy. It was everything else that was so damned hard. Chase wasn’t knocked out for long. He could hear someone near him and it sounded like they were yelling. Chase could tell it was a girl. Probably Hayden. "Chase? Can you hear me? Chase?" that confirmed his suspicion- it was Hayden. Chase groaned. He moved every bone making sure nothing was broken when he was flipped over onto his back. “Go away.” He murmured limply swatting his hand in her direction.
Chase could feel the blood coming from the cut on his lip and not soon after, he felt Hayden pressing some type of cloth to his lip. It hurt whatever it was and he tried to get it off. Chase sat there drifting in and out of consciousness until something cold and wet was spilt onto his forehead. Startled he awoke and winced. His head hurt like hell. When Chase finally Chase looked at Hayden all he could say was. “I’m sorry.” He stated hoping she knew what he was talking about. He closed his eyes back up not wanting to see her right now. He had embarrassed himself and he wanted to be left alone.
Not minutes after he closed his eyes he heard. "Chase? Can you hear me?" Chase smirked. “Yes I can hear you, I’m not deaf.” Chase took a minute to open his eyes then stand and once he was up he swayed back and forth a bit. He whistled and Red came trotting over. Chase watched as Red trotted over obviously not favoring any thing. Red knew he had done something wrong and he stood still as Chase brushed himself off and straightened his shirt- it had risen up to show off his well defined abs.
Chase swung up into the saddle and nodded at Hayden. His head still hurt but he had to get back up to finish their practice. Chase got Red trotting and they lapped the ring twice before he slowed Red because it was hurting his head. He shook his head which just made it hurt more. He took a few deep breaths before asking Red to move forward. He tried trotting again and this time he told himself he would just have to suck it up and get on with his practice.

A Miracle are those Little Things that Happen Every Day------------------------------------------------- "Chase? Can you hear me? Chase?" Hayden said. Chase groaned a bit and without opening his eyes said, “Go away.” He swatted in Hayden's direction. "Good to see you to Chase" Hayden said with a cracked grin. He murmured limply swatting his hand in her direction. Chase was confused by Hayden's shirt and used his limp arms to try and move it. "No no no" Hayden whispered cooly in his ear. Her blood pressure was back to normal knowing he was severely injured. When Hayden poured the water on his forehead he sat up quickly.
She slowly pushed his chest back to the ground and said, "Not so fast." He met her eyes and Hayden saw the hurt. She watched as his brain worked and he finally said, "I’m sorry.” Hayden gave him a soft smile, leaned down and kissed him lightly on the forehead. "Already forgiven" She said brushing away the water hairs, plastered to his forehead from the water. He closed his eyes again and seemed to drift back to unconsciousness. Hayden shook him lightly again and repeated, "Chase? Can you hear me?" She watched as a smirk appeared on his face and he said, “Yes I can hear you, I’m not deaf.” Hayden lifted her eyebrows in inch but smiled.
Chase finally opened his eyes again. He lie still for two counts before jumping up back onto his feet. He swayed twice and Hayden stood fast to steady him, but by the time she got to him he was still. He let out a low but long whistle and Red came trotting toward us from just across the arena. Red hung his head low and nudged Chase a bit. Hayden smiled as Chase pushed his shirt down over his rock hard abs. Chase quickly swung back into the saddle and Hayden frowned. He looked at her for a beat then nodded. His face turned forward again, his eyes stationed between Red's ears. The pair began trotting and Hayden took a seat on the white fence.
"Do you wanna be alone?" Hayden asked Chase as he lapped by her. Chase slowed a few strides later then speed up again. Hayden and Chase both knew he shouldn't be riding. "Chase. Heath is more important then practice. I can drive you home." She paused and waited a moment before saying, "Talk...." Her eyes followed him as he and Red lapped the ring again and again. ------------------------------------------------- But they Still Make you Smile until Your Face Hurts Description-Clickky hair, down;make-up black eyeliner and mascara Word Count- 411 Tags- Chase Parker Muse- Feeling good. Leaving was easy. It was everything else that was so damned hard. Chase noticed that Hayden sat on the white fence pole and was watching his practice. As Chase came by Hayden she called out to him, "Do you wanna be alone?" He winced. It sounded as if she were yelling through a megaphone right into his ear. He circled Red and as he was coming back towards her he managed to whisper “No, stay please” He didn’t know if she had heard him but she stayed in her spot on the fence.
Chase had a feeling that he shouldn’t be riding and he knew that Hayden also knew that. But Chase was glad she was just letting him practice. Chase sat in the top corner and let Red transition into a canter. It wasn’t a fast canter but Chase still felt like he was off balance and he was moving everywhere. It didn’t help that he head was pounding and it felt as if the horse was running on his head not the ground. Finally Chase shook his head and pulled Red to a walk. "Chase. Health is more important then practice. I can drive you home." Hayden called out. Without giving Chase time to reply she called out "Talk...." Chase took a deep breath, shook his feet out of the stirrups and hoped off.
He swung the reins over Red’s head and walked over to Hayden. “I think I might need to go to the doctor. I’ve never fallen off like this before. And it’s great that my car is in the shop. I’m not asking you to take me; I’m just saying that because I thought you would want to know.” He said. He turned and walked Red back into the stables. He led Red to a set of cross ties and took off the bridle and put on his halter. He attached the cross ties and sighed.
Chase had to sit down. It was getting to be too much for him. He decided to take a breather. Chase sat back and leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes and tried to stay as still as he could. He thought about how he would get home much less the hospital. There was always the city bus or taxi… ‘Taxi. Taxis are a cleaner and faster mode of transportation.’ Chase thought. He sighed. Chase realized that he still had his helmet on. He gently undid the clasp and took it off. He ran his hands through his hair then set his helmet on the ground. Chase massaged his temples seeing if that would make it feel better but it only made it worse. He groaned. Why did this have to happen to him?

A Miracle are those Little Things that Happen Every Day------------------------------------------------- After Hayden confronted Chase about him riding he shook his head and popped his feet out of the stirrups. Hayden sighed with relief. He lead Red up to Hayden and said, “I think I might need to go to the doctor. I’ve never fallen off like this before. And it’s great that my car is in the shop." Hayden's mind detected a lie. Chase said he didn't have a car. She let it slide without a word. "I’m not asking you to take me; I’m just saying that because I thought you would want to know.” He turned and headed for the stable.
Hayden followed behind him and let him clip Red into cross ties and unbridle him. Chase slid against the wall and slowly fell to the ground. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes. Hayden stood a few feet away for a second and just watched him. She could see pain. Even without reading his eyes. She slowly walked toward him keeping her footsteps light. She bent down toward him and opened his palm. She dropped her car keys into them and curled his fingers back around them.
"Go and relax in the car. I'll take care of Red and be out as soon as I can" She said softly. Her voice took on a playful edge as she added, "Don't try and resist or drive off with my car. Just go." She lifted his face toward hers and softly planted a kiss on his lips. "Don't be embarrassed." She whispered. She didn't know if he understood Hayden was talking about earlier but it didn't matter.
Hayden turned away from Chase and walked up to Red. She let him sniff her hand before she began to untack him. She quickly undid his girth, walked around him, and picked up the saddle in a heap. She placed it on the floor and felt Red's legs for warmth. He seemed content so Hayden lead him back to his stall. She released him and checked his hay and water. "He'll be fine" She hollowly promised Red.
Hayden strode down the hall toward the owner's office. She scribbled a note explaining why Rolex was out and that he had colic. Then she pushed it in the door and turned on her heel. Hayden jogged out of the stable and into the parking lot. She slid into the car and gently closed the door. "To the hospital?" She asked Chase in a low voice. "Red's fine' she reassured. ------------------------------------------------- But they Still Make you Smile until Your Face Hurts Description-Clickky hair, down;make-up black eyeliner and mascara Word Count- 432 Tags- Chase Parker Muse- Still feeling good. Chase kept his eyes closed as Hayden grabbed and opened his palm. He was surprised when she dropped her car keys into his hand and folded his hand back up. "Go and relax in the car. I'll take care of Red and be out as soon as I can" Chase slowly opened his eyes. Hayden had a playful tone to her voice when she said "Don't try and resist or drive off with my car. Just go." He smirked. “If I was well enough to drive a car I would be untacking my own horse.” Hayden lifted his face towards hers and gently pressed her lips to his. It was sweet and innocent. She pulled apart and whispered. “Don’t be embarrassed.” Chase gulped heat rising to his face. He tore his eyes away from hers and looked away.
Chase knew there was no arguing with Hayden so when she got up to finish untacking Red. Chase made his way slowly towards her car. He turned around when he had reached the doorway. “Hayden. Thank you not just for untacking but for everything.” He smiled and turned continuing onto her car.
Chase easily found her car, seeing it was the only one in the parking lot. He unlocked the passenger door and slid into the seat. It made a wheezing sound as he sat in it and he placed the key in the ignition but didn’t turn the car on. He hoped that Red would be ok with Hayden untacking him, he was wary to strangers. A few minutes later Hayden emerged from the barn. Chase watched her with a smile on his face. She opened her door sat down beside Chase.
"To the hospital?" Hayden said in a low voice. Chase just managed a nod. He was still worrying about Red. As if Hayden heard his thoughts she said “Red's fine” Chase smiled. “I cannot thank you enough for taking care of him and me and for driving me to the hospital. I bet you have better things to do then to drive me to the hospital. And just so you know, you don’t have to stay with me- I’m fine on my own.” He said looking straight ahead.
