Drumming her fingers on the glossy wooden surface of the table she was sitting at in the Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe, Kylie looked around. Her ear buds were in her ears playing the music for her floor routine on repeat. In her head she was reviewing and going over the moves in the routine. She was still wearing her leotard underneath a thin athletic warm up jacket and warm up pants. Her hair was thrown up into a sleek ponytail held back with bobby pins and clips as she looked at the menu trying to decide what to order. She had trained extra hard today and after practice decided she deserved a treat to ice cream. Her muscles ached from the hours of gym time she had put in today and all Kylie wanted to do was crawl into bed and go to sleep.
A group of girls she knew went to the local public school tumbled in, giggling, each with a boy on her arm. Kylie rolled her eyes and scoffed at the foolishness of other girls her age and how much time and energy they put into petty little things like boys and perfect nail beds. Part of Kylie yearned for a “normal” life where she could go to parties and have a boyfriend, but there was no way her parents would let her “give up her dream.” In fact, Kylie was so used to her parents scoffing at teenage pleasures like boyfriends and parties, that she’d just adopted the lifestyle herself. She had realized a long time ago that if she wanted to be part of the Worlds team and further, a part of the Olympic team in 2012 she had to work her ass off now. She’d have time for parties and boys later.
Finally deciding on a strawberry frozen yogurt, she went up to the cash register and ordered. The worker handed her a small Styrofoam cup and she thanked him as she took it. She went back to the booth where she left her gymnastics bag and sat down, propping her feet up on the bench across from her. Kylie dug her spoon into the frozen dessert and put it in her mouth, letting it melt in her mouth. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d had ice cream. It was probably long before she began her serious training. Well here’s to me, she thought, silently toasting to herself as she looked around the shop once more. People were flooding in and out and she didn’t recognize a single face from the gym, the barn, or even just around town. She was literally all alone in the shop surrounded by unfamiliar faces in her familiar town. It was funny how being alone could really kill her mood; Kylie had finally nailed the Geinger flowing smoothly into her dismount at the end of her uneven bar routine. Her parents would be proud, but she realized that none of her other friends would really care, let alone know what on earth a Geinger even was. Her silver Blackberry buzzed on the bench next to her. congrats on the geinger kyy lets hang out sometime it was a text from her best friend at the gym, Paige. Well at least someone besides her and her parents cared.
At least she had gymnastics, and that, for now, was enough to keep her sane. Kylie kept her little world neat, tidy, and organized with little to no room for distractions or insanity. But just like she yearned for a “normal” life, she desired to have a little insanity in her life, just for the hell of it for once. She was never one for spontaneity and she wanted to give it a try. The most spontaneous thing she had ever done was decide what mount she was going to do on her beam routine last minute before a competition. She laughed a little to herself, probably looking like a complete lunatic, as she thought about how much that didn’t even count as being badass. Ah well, in the words of Father Tanner, spontaneity would be for “after the Olympics,” just like everything else.

[Talking][Thinking][Actions]
Breath in. Breath out. Heart racing. Colt pushed on foot fall after foot fall. He was jogging through town like he did almost ever afternoon. He was feeling the burn today. He had been running and working out a lot more since he got a job as a bouncer at the club in town. He was excited about it. Last night had been fun. A few wasted guys got into it and he was the one to break it up. It was such a rush. Almost as great as the rush he got when reining or working cattle with Val. He loved the stallion. Sometimes he would even go to the barn and put Val in pasture and run there. The stallion would run with him. Colt smiled to himself. Soon he pulled up to a stop in front of the Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe. He had a sweet tooth today and ice cream would do the trick for him. He pulled his white tank top out of the pocket of his gym shorts and pulled it on. He wrapped his head phones around his Ipod and put it in his pocket.
He walked through the door and head for the rest room. The warm air inside the building felt so great. He used the rest room and washed his hands and face then walked back out. As he looked for a booth to sit at he noticed this brown haired girl in what looked like a workout suit. She was pretty so he made his way to the booth beside her. He sat so they were facing each other. He sat and looked over the menu. From time to time he looked up at her hoping to caught her eye. Her ponytail was sleep and he just couldn't help but look at her pretty face. After a moment he choose to get a small thing of cookies and cream ice cream. He stood and made his way to the register and made his order. After a moment he returned to his booth with his ice cream.
His mind wondered a bit as he at the cool ice cream. He was thinking about what he had to do after he left here. He was going to go ride Val then find something to get himself into seeing he didn't have to work tonight. Then his mind traced back to the girl. He wondered if she would hangout. Colt was such a player. He was sweet in charming, but a poison layed under that charming face and voice of his. He smiled to himself, but before he could plan up a move his phone rang. The song I'm not afraid played from his pocket. He pulled it from his pocket. It was on of his buds from the club. He answered it. Rick told him he couldn't hang because he got called into work. Colt told him it was cool that he'd find himself something to get into. They talked for a little while longer than Colt hung up the phone and put it back in his pocket. He was now finished with his ice cream and went to throw away his cup. Now it was time to make his move. He walked back over to booth were the girl sat. He sat down across from her in the booth. 'Hey there. Mind if I sit with you, miss?' His voice slightly deep and showing his country accent. His charming smile graced his lips. 'My name is Colt. Hope I'm not bothering you. You just looked a little lonely. So I figured I'd come say hi.'

A tall, muscular boy with dark hair and tan skin entered the shop and took a seat in the booth near where Kylie was sitting. He was very attractive, and caught Kylie’s attention. It was almost as if someone had heard her desires to be spontaneous and delivered the boy right in front of her. It was silly, but Kylie had always been superstitious like that. She believed in karma and luck, not as part of her religion, but just as something to believe in to explain things that happened to her. As Kylie continued eating her frozen yogurt, she kept glancing over at the guy sitting in the booth by her. She tried to pay attention to reviewing her routine and trying to envision new moves to add in to add extra points onto her score, but her mind kept wandering back to the boy. She glanced over at his table. He got up to order and then went back and sat down. She looked again and he was on the phone. Finally, he got up again to throw his finished cup away. As he came back, instead of going back to his booth, he slid into the bench at Kylie’s table across from her. He began speaking, “Hey there. Mind if I sit with you, miss?” Kylie pulled her ear buds out and pressed the pause button to stop the music. He smiled pleasantly and continued, “My name is Colt. Hope I’m not bothering you. You just looked a little lonely. So I figured I’d come say hi.” Normally, Kylie’s first instinct would be to say, “No, thank you, I’m not interested,” but there was something about this guy that was intriguing. She liked guys that took charge like that, approaching the girl first. All the guys she knew at the gym never did that. “No, it’s fine,”
[/b] Kylie smiled back and spooned the last bit of frozen yogurt into her mouth. She swallowed it and pushed the cup out of the way. She crossed her legs and leaned forward and folded her arms on the table. “I’m Kylie, by the way,” she said and wished that she didn’t look completely gross right now after working out. She made a silent note to herself that next time she went out in public to make an effort to look somewhat nice. She turned her attention back to Colt, “So, do you ride at the stable? Because I don’t think I’ve seen you there before.” TAGGED: Colt OUTFIT: click hereWORDS: 457 I think...? NOTES: why thank you I like yours too. LYRICS: Katy Perry CREDIT: To BUNNYA! from CAUTION 2.0!
