Love is a Game
4 months, Lexi thought to herself as she sat on the white table and watched the young doctor's eyes. She had just taken the ultrasound. The results were buzzing around inside the computer and we were waiting for the words to form on the screen. Connor was rubbing the defined bump growing from Lexi's stomach. He held his mouth close to her ear slowly keeping Lexi calm. The doctor smiled and connected eyes with both parents. "Congratulations, you have a baby......" The doctor said. Lexi felt everything go into slow motion as he said, "girl." Lexi felt Connor smile and a grin formed on her own lips. Speechless Lexi turned to Connor and kissed him.

As the pair walked out of the hospital they swung their intwined hands. "A girl...." Connor murmured. Lexi was just as excited as Connor. Both of the parents had hoped for a girl. Connor wanted a little girl to call 'his little girl' and 'his baby girl'. Lexi was sure Connor wouldn't mind playing catch with a boy and taking him to football games but she really did think Connor liked the idea of a girl. Lexi knew a girl would be closer to her and thats all she wanted. Lexi ran her fingers over her own bump through her oversized tee shirt.

Connor opened the passenger door to his red ford pick-up and helped Lexi in. She grabbed the seatbelt and clicked it into the red lock. Connor hoped into the truck and pushed the key into the ignition. The car purred to a start as they backed out of the parking lot. "A girl." Lexi finally said, words finally forming. Connor reached his hand over and grabbed Lexi's hand. She turned and smiled at him.

Connor pulled into the driveway of Lexi's huge house. It was a family home and made for a four person family. Both hoped out of the car and headed for the big wooden door. Lexi unlocked the door and floated inside. It was a modern house and was over flowing with furniture. Connor dropped off the keys to his car and the house on the kitchen counter as Lexi flopped onto the couch.

Lexi heard the sound of popcorn popping from the kitchen as Connor lay down next to her with his arms wrapped around her. Lexi knew she was lucky. She was already grown up at age 16 with a...........boyfriend. Lexi wanted more then anything to call Connor her husband. Chewing on her lip Lexi sat up and grabbed the remote. She clicked the red 'power' button turning the TV off. Connor looked at her with curiosity but Lexi wouldn't meet his eyes. Finally she looked at him, his eyes soft. "Why......." Lexi paused and took a deep breath, "Why aren't we married?" Connor gave her a sympathtic look and scooted closer to Lexi. Lexi sighed and let Connor hold her hands. "Were waiting. Until were both out of collage." He said. Lexi knew the plan well but never came to terms with it. "I know." She finally whispered. "If we were out of collage I'd marry you in a heart beat. I love you." Connor whispered into Lexi's neck. Lexi grinned and found Connor's lips.
