It's time for change {mel}

Jason parked his truck infront of his house. Mel had been here for a day now, but she wasn't suppose to be out and about til tomorow. Jason made sure that happend and kept her at the house while he went and fed horses real quick. He walked in the house to see the dogs laying on the cool kitchen floor. He smiled a little and walked upstairs where Mel should have been.

He walked into his room and he smiled seeing her still sleeping. Thank goodness she was resting just fine. He then took his clothes off in the bathroom and hopped in the shower after letting the water run for a moment. He was going to take her to his parents tomorrow, after he let her see her horses. He just didn't want to push it today, but tomorrow she should be just fine.

He got in the shower and he rinsed off. He shampooed his hair then rinsed it out. He washed his face and his body then put some conditioner in his hair and washed it out. He turned off the water and grabbed a towl and stepped outta the shower. h dries off then put the towel around his waist and turned the sink on and put shaving cream on his face. He shaved his face then washed his face off agian. He brushed his teeth and put deodarant on. He walked into the bedroom and put boxers and a pair of jeans on. Then put on a tshirt.

The last few days had been a pretty good roller-coaster. Well he whole couple months had, with mostly downhills. He hoped tomorrow night would bring that roller-coaster back up again. He figured he would take her out to his parents, get court stuff done, then surprise her with a dinner in the trees out by his house or something. he wasn't quite sure yet. He still needed to talk to his mom about the details and how that was going to work.

The sound of running water woke Mel from her light sleep. She yawned as she stretched. Her head wasn't hurting for once. She just layed there on her back. Her hands rubbed her belly. It looked so big compared to other girls she had seen at two months. But she had always been small and fit. She grown still and Jason walked in wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. She watched him get dressed. After a moment she sat up and got out of his bed. She walked up behind him and hug him. He smelled so good. What ever he had on she really like. 'You could've woke me for a shower. I could've helped washed your back.' She told him playfully. She moved away from him and over to her bag of clothes that sat on the floor by his dresser.

She found a old camo shirt than fit loosely on her and a part of blue jeans that still fit her. She grabbed her tooth brush and walked to the bathroom. She changed and brushed her teeth. Her hair was a mess, but she didn't care she wasn't planning on going anywhere today but to the barn if Jason would let her. She walked back into the room. She layed her clothes on the top of her bag and walked over to Jason. She smiled and stood on her toes to kiss him. He was a little taller than her but she didn't mind. She pulled back after a moment and looked at him. 'So what are we doing today? She voice soft and sweet.

She knew it probably wouldn't be much because she needed to rest. She was honestly tired of resting. She sleep all day after she came home yesterday. She wanted to do something today. It didn't have to be much. Her mind wondered over the past few months. They had been rough. Within the two months she had been in Pinewood a lot had happened. She met Jason. Got pregnant. Almost lost Jason. Was almost killed by her 'friend'. But now everything was ok. She was fine. The baby was fine. And she had Jason. She had Summer, Scream, and Aero. She had all she needed. She didn't need a rich guy and a big house. All she asked for was happiness and someone to love her and be there to for her.

He felt her come up behind him and hug him. He heard her and he smiled. "Sorry, didn't want to wake you." He said. After getting dressed he walkedinto the bathroom for a moment and put in some different earings. He combed his dark brown hair and looked at her. He smiled and kissed her cheek going back to the bedroom looking through some papers by teh tv. She asked him a question. He smiled at her, kissing her back. "Today? Well you have to rest one more day I hate to say. I might take you to teh barn this evening with me if your really good. But today I planned on just staying around the house, making some lunch, playing with teh dogs..." He said.

"Tomorrow I'm taking you to my parents ranch with me. I have to go get a restraining order and change my phone number... then just show you around a little bit before we come back." He said leaving out teh best part. He wanted that to be a surprise. He smiled down at her and pulled her closer and hugged her kissing the top of her head. His hands rubbed her back gently. "What do you want for breakfast??" he asked.

He took her hand and walked downstairs through the living room and to the kitchen. He looked through the fridge deciding he wanted scrambled eggs... but couldn't pin point what he wanted with them. "Choose." he told her and walked to teh back door and let teh dogs in and fed them. He came back to teh kitchen. "What did you pick, darling?" He asked and ran his hand over her butt smirking a little.

Mel watched him as he spoke. She half smiled at his words and stared at the floor. He wasn't gonna let her do much of anything today. She felt strong enough but she didn't try to reason with him. Her heart sank a bit, but she hide it as she looked up and listened to him talk about tomorrow. He told her he was taking her to his parents. He was going to get a restraining order and change his phone number. Then he'd show her around. She smiled up at him. 'That'd be nice.' Her words were simply and to the point. She really didn't know what to say. If she had parents she'd ask him to meet them but she didn't have any. Just a whore and a jacka.ss that throw her to the curb.

Parents was a touchy subject for her. It just made her anger and made that cold spot in heart bigger. She looked away from him as her face hardened at the thought of her mother. She never wanted to be her mother. Never would she leave her child to just another and leave never to come back. Then she wondered what his parents would say if they seen she was pregnant. Probably look like a whore in there eyes just trying to get Jason's money just as the other girl. As he pulled her closer she tried to let it all go. She felt him kiss the top of her head as his hands rubbed her back gently. He asked her what she wanted for breakfast. She didn't say anything as she thought on it.

He took her hand and they walked down stairs. She let him pull her along. She was lost in her mind. Her thoughts picking at her heart. Would she be a good mother? Would she be able to care for the child? Would Jason be there like he says he will? Worry filled her troubled mind. Maybe that hit had messed her head up some how. Now she found herself not wanting to trust anyone. She had trusted Vik with all her heart and look what she got.

Maybe going to Jason's ranch would help clear her mind. They moved through the living room and into the kitchen. She watched him look through the fridge. After a moment he turned to her and told her to choose. He walked away to let the dogs in. He feed them and walked back into the kitchen. He asked her if she had picked as he ran his hand over her butt with a smirk on his lips. She moved away from his touch this time. Her mind not in the mood. 'I'm not hungry.' Her words simple again. She head slightly ached now but she hide in from her face. She wasn't trying to push him away but she was having trust issues over what happened and her mind was simply a scattered mess at the moment.

He walked back into the kitchen. She mentioned she wasn't hungry. He looked at her, she seemed down all of a sudden. He started up the eggs. "You alright?" He asked her and watched his eggs listening for her to answer him. He felt a little frustrated because she was so happy then bam she wasn't. She was not acting normal all of a sudden. It didn't help she was pregnant and she was recovering froma bad fall.

He finished his scrambled eggs and put them on a plate. He put in some bread in the toaster. He stepped up to her and kissed her lip gently. "Smile a little.' He told her grinning at her playfully. He was getting the restraining order and changing his phone number so she could trust him that he wasn't going to leave her for the other girl. Or would he step out on her, he was not like that. He wasn't going to kick her to the curb. He was going to try his harderst to stay with her and be the father he needed to be and the boyfriend and maybe husband he needed to be for her and the kid.

He watched her then put butter on his toast sitting down at the table and started to eat. Sadie came and laid at his feet waiting quietly for left overs. He ate in silence then finished letting Sadie have a few little eggs. He put the dishes in teh dishwasher. He leaned against the counter and sighed. He folded his arms over his chest and looked at the ground thinking a momement.

What did he do wrong to make her all of a sudden get all weird. Oh this was frustrating. Now he knew why he had never been good at relationships. But he really truely liked her and he was willing to be frustrated if it meant staying together and being a family. He had friends that had split up families and it was hard on them. He didn't want this kid to have that kinda life. He wanted it to have a loving mom and dad both. So he was gonna stick it out and try to understand her feelings and thoughts about everything.

Mel watched him start to cook him some eggs. She heard him ask if she was alright. She shook her head to herself. She knew she wasn't ok. She was scared, unsure, and hurting. She wanted to tell but wasn't sure how. It was all such a mess in her head. Her heart said trust him, but her mind told her to watch herself. Vik had royaly screwed her up. She sighed as she watched him as he placed some bread in the toaster. He moved closer to her and kissed her lips gently. She kissed him back. He told her to smile a little and she gave him a half smile. She felt his eyes on her at he moved to sit at the table.

As Sadie walked into the kitchen Summer followed. She knelt down and called her over to her. The lab puppy ran to her happily and licked her face. Mel strached her back and loved on her a minute. She looked up at Jason as he leaned up against the counter; his arm folded over his chest. She told Summer to go play and stood up with a sigh. She stepped closer to him. 'I'm sorry for being ill, but I'm just so scared right now. I'm just so scared of losing you. I feel so vurable right now. And I'm just scared and I don't know how to to explain why.' Her voice was a bit shaky. She looked up at him as tears formed in her eyes. She tried to hold them back but she couldn't.

'I'm so scared of losing the baby. I'm don't want to be a mother like mine. I'm scared your gonna leave me. I don't want to do this alone. I'm scared and I so scared.' Her voice broke as she started to cry. She leaned her head against his chest. she didn't know what else to say. She hoped he'd understand. She felt Summer sit on her foot and lick her leg.

Jason listened to her words. 'I'm sorry for being ill, but I'm just so scared right now. I'm just so scared of losing you. I feel so vurable right now. And I'm just scared and I don't know how to to explain why. So she was scared. He couldnt' see why though. Last few days he had been totally committed to her. He had been at her side twenty-four hours outta the day almost. But if she kept on saying she was scared and waht not he was gonna go crazy and a fight would break out, but hopefully he could take her out tomorrow before something like that happened.

'I'm so scared of losing the baby. I'm don't want to be a mother like mine. I'm scared your gonna leave me. I don't want to do this alone. I'm scared and I so scared She went on to say. He held her close and kissed teh top of her head as she leaned her head agains his chest. "I'm not going to leave you. Iam totally committed to you. You won't be like your mother, you will be a good mom. So just relax and don't think about it. Think positive." He told her with a knowing voice.

He looked down to see Summer licking her legs. Sadie laid down in the living room. He rubbed her back gently. "I'm not going to just up and leave you. I might go show horses or something and be busy but that don't mean you can't trust me, because you can." He said. He looked over and wiped her tears from her face. "Everything will be just fine. We will have some up an down but we can make it through. we are in this together."He said smiling trying to cheer her up.

"How about I take you to the barn so you can have some alone time with Scream and I will go off and ride my horses... will that help you?" He asked, knowing she had a relationship with her horse as if they were best friends. Nothing wrong with that at all though. He was kinda the same with Journey. Poor horse was slowly fading away and it saddened Jason. But that's besides teh point. He needed to help Mel be happy about life in general.

Mel leaned against his chest and cried. She knew he had been there for her the last few days. She knew she could trust in him but for some reason she was scared. She couldn't explain it. It was just how she suddenly felt. She felt him pull her closer and kiss the top of her head. She leaned into him as he spoke. She could chest vibrate as he spoke. She feel so safe in these arms of his. Everything about him just made her feel at home. She just couldn't understand why she felt like she did. She felt his hands rub her back to comfort her. She looked up at him as he started to speak again. She smiled as he wiped the tears from her face and contuined to speak. Her hand came up to catch his as it moved over her cheek. She held in on her cheek for a moment as she looked into his eyes.

Jason asked her if it would help if he took her to the barn to have some alone time with Scream. She smiled to him. 'Yea. Maybe that will help clear my head. I know I can trust you. I just thing Vik attacking me has screwed up my head some how. Her voice was calm again. She wrapped her arms around him; laying her head on his chest once more. She breathed in deep. His fresh smell filling her lungs. 'I can't wait to go with you to meet your parents. Maybe so time away from here with help too. She pushed away from him and smiled up to him. She knew everything was going to be fine she just neeeded to reid her head of these bad thoughts. 'I'ma go take a shower then we can go.

Mel stepped around him and walked through the living room toward the stairs. Summer followed her close. The puppy seemed to be her shadow theses days. Always following her around everywhere she could. Mel walked up the stairs and down the hall to Jason's room. She grabbed some of her things and walked to the bathroom. She turned on the water to let it warm up as she undressed. She undressed and stood there a moment looking in the mirror. Her body had changed a lot over the last few months. Her stomach was slowly getting big and big. Same with her boobs. She shoke her head and stepped away from the mirror. She grabbed her shampoo and conditioner from her bag. It smelled like green apples. She stepped into the shower and washed her hair. After a moment she leaned out of the shower and grabbed her body wash from her bag. It smelled like sweet honeysuckle and orange peel. She washed and then stood in the shower letting the warm water wash over her.

After a good ten minutes she turned off the water and stepped out. She grabbed a towel and dried her self off. She dried her hair really good then got dressed. She put the camo shirt and jeans she had had on back on. She just changed her bra and underwear. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and walked out of the bathroom. She left her bag in there. Summer was waiting outside the door for her. She smiled. Already she was feeling better. She walked down stairs to find Jason. She walked into the living room hoping he was there.

[[Ok. And maybe when he gets back he hears she was hang out with another guy and she wasn't. So he comes to her house to talk to her and then gets all mad when she says the only other guy she has hung out with was Charlie back when she first got here. And some how that makes him think the baby isn't his and he gets all mad. Idk. Lol.]]

Jason listened to her and nodded. He knew going out to his parents house would be a good thing. Get away from town, have some alone time as well. He hoped all this plans were going to work out. He really wanted to take her on short horse ride and stop and have some dinner at a little place where they will have dinner. His mom was making the food and driving it over because it was like a picnic area and cars could get to it.

He smiled seeing her smile after he mentioned going and letting her see her horses. He figured she needed that... and he needed to go ride a little. He hadn't done that in a couple days while she had been resting. She went up and took shower. He was downstairs cleaning the kitchen while seh was cleaning up. He sat down on the living room couch and was flipping through channels when seh came dwn. He looked up at her with a smile on his face.

"You ready?" He asked and stood up turning the tv off. He leaned over and patted Sadie then walked up to Mel and kissed her lips. "You look beautiful." He said. He knew she hadn't really tried to look good, but he thought she was beautiful still. He kissed her again with a little more passion this time then took her hand and walked with her to the door. He went out to his truck and let her in then loaded up teh dogs. He got in adn started it. He drove to the barn.

Once there after a few minutes he got out and opened teh door for her. He smiled and took her hand and let the dogs out. he walked inside teh barn with her. "Scream is in his stall, and Aero is in Chinook's stall down here. I didn't want him out in the paddock when he don't know much horses here so I decided that was teh safest."" He looked at her and kissed her cheek. "I'm gonna go catch Chinook and Journey and ride them. Will you be alright alone?" He asked her, wanting to make sure.

As Mel walked into the living room she found Jason sitting on the couch. He smiled to her as he seen her come in. She smiled back to him. He asked her if she was ready as he stood up and turned off the tv. She nodded as she watched him pat Sadie and walk over to her. His lips met hers and she leaned into the kiss. After a moment she felt him pull away and tell she was beautiful. She smiled up at him. She haded been trying to look good at all. She was in loose fitting clothes and her hair was still wet. And before she could protest about the way she looked his lips met hers again. She could feel the passion in his kiss this time. She deepened the kiss before he pulled away. He took her hand and they walked to the door.

They walked out to his truck and he helped her in. He loaded up the dogs then he got in they headed for the barn. It seemed not to long after the pulled out of his drive they were at the barn. He got out and helped her out of the truck. She watched as he unloaded the dogs. they ran around playing with each other. Summer had picked up on sadie's trick and was now trying to nip at her heels. Mel laughed. Jason took her hand and they walked to the barn and inside. As they walked down the hall Jason told her where Scream and Aero was. She smiled as his kissed her cheek then told her he was going to go catch Chinook and Journey to ride. She started to giggle as he asked if she'd be alright alone. She nodded and tried to control her giggling, but she couldn't help it for she had realize Jason had called Aero a him. After a moment she stopped.

She walked up to Aero. She patted the mare and turned to look at Jason. 'Aero is a mare. And yes I'll be fine alone hun. I'll probably come find you in a few. She smiled to him. She walked over to the tack room and grabbed Scream's black and sliver trimed saddle and bridle. She layed them by his stall. 'Hey my pretty boy. Miss me any? She smiled as the gelding whinnied and bobbed his head up and down. She clipped a lead rope to his halter as she opened the shall door. She walked Scream out and tired the lead rope on a hook beside the stall door. She walked back to the tack room and grabbed a brush. She brushed him really good then saddled him. They saddled was really light so it didn't take much to lift it.

She placed the bridle around the saddle horn and walked back over to Aero's stall. She clipped a lead rope to her halter and took her out of her stall. She brushed her really good and then walked over to Scream. She untied him then headed outside of the barn. She was gonna take Aero to a paddock to run around hor a bit and she was going to ride Scream around the barral arena or go find Jason and ride with him.

Jason laughed at himself for thinking Aero was a boy. Hell he thought it was a boy, he never thought to check. He smiled and kissed her forehead before he left. He went off and got Chinook and Journey from the pasture and tied them up to his trailer. He brushed them both really good and saddled up Chinook. He would just ride Journey bareback, if he rode him. He took Journey into th round pen to run and play. Then took Chinook to the barrel arena to ride.

He lunged her just a little bit then stepped on her after tightenin the cinch. Chinook chomped the bit and swished her tail as she walked along the rail. He chuckled almost forgetting about her attitude problems. He did a few circles at a walk at each corner warming her up a little bit. He did the same at a trot and lope. He then did a fairly easy reining pattern off her at a trot to start out with, and get her mind and body into gear.

Then he walked her around a little bit to let her catch her breathe. He then stopped in the middle of the arena, collecting her up. He spun to the left ten times then to the right. He stopped and collected her and asked for a left lead. The first circle small and slow. The second one was bigger and fast. He asked for a flying lead change in the middle and went back down to a slow lope to the right, then a big fast one to the right. He did another flying lead change and went kinda along the rail outta the circling and at the one end slid to a stop. He backed her a little and did a rollback. going around to teh other side of the arena to teh right he slid to a stop backed and did a roll back. He came aroud and went straight down the middle and did the best sliding stop Chinook had ever done. He smiled backed her up and spun to the left and then the right. He patted her neck.

He walked her around now to cool her off and be done. That was a good ride for not being rode in a few days. After cooling her out he tied her to the trailer and untacked her. He went back into the barn and grabbed Jack and the mustang colt. He walked them out and brushed adn saddled them both. He went into the barrel arena with Jack, leaving the mustang colt tied. He for now was just walking. Jack had been a rope horse and Jason wanted to show him a little bit this coming year to earn some show points and then use him as a stud for public.

Mel walked with her two horses out to the pasture. Went she got there she tied Scream to a post and walked Aero to one of the pasture gates. She opened it and stepped in with Aero. She removed the halter from the mare's head and stepped back. Aero took off running and bucking. Aero had always been one to hate to be in a stall or small place for to long. She watched the mare run around for a bit then stepped out of the gate and locked it back. She walked back over to Scream. She took his bridle off the horn of his saddle and placed Aero's halter and lead in its place. She removed his halter and put on his bridle. She out his halter on the saddle horn with Aero's.

Mel mounted Scream and asked him to back up. He did as he was asked. She turned him back toward the barrel arena. The gelding moved along at a slowly walk. After a moment she tapped her heels on the gelding side and as him to pick up his pace. Scream's pace picked up to a easy canter. She didn't push it any farther for the fact she was with child. She smiled as she thought about the baby. She didn't even know the little person growing inside her yet she already loved it. She hoped the baby would loved horses and want to ride. She was suddenly brought from her thoughts by the sight of the barrel arena. He moved Scream to the gate and opened it. She entered and closed the gate behind her.

She looked toward the barrels and she could feel Scream tense in excitement. The gelding loved to run the barrels. She lined him up and let him go. She held on as he came to the first barrel almost at full gallop. Scream stepped gracefully around the barrels, dug deep and headed around the second barrel. The gelding did the same again and headed for the third barrel. As the came around the third barrel and head for the finishing line. She felt as if she was becoming one with Scream as the gelding pushed himself to his max. A rush of excitement raced through her body. After a moment she pulled Scream to a stop. As she caught her breath she looked around. Her brown eyes found Jason heading this way on one of his horses. She frowned for she knew if Jason had seen her just know he would be happy. So she quickly pulled Scream toward the rail and asked him to trot.

Jason had looked up and saw her run the last part of the barrel pattern. He shook his head and laughed a little. You couldn't stop a horse lover from riding. He wasn't going to get mad. Once wouldn't hurt her, now if she kept doing it he would have a problem with it. He walked the big buckskin stud horse into the barrel arena. He smiled as if he knew she had ran the barrels but said nothing. He stepped on the horse.

He walked him around in a circle, bending him and getting him collected. He then moved him along the rail using one hand getting him collected and walking at a nice even slow pace. Jack rounded out and walked evenly. He smiled then asked for a trot keeping a nice steady trot on the rail, keeping balanced and rounded. He kept the horse at a slow steady pace. He patted the studs neck as he trotted around like a show horse. Who woulda known a money earning rope horse could be a show horse. He chuckled at the thought.

After about ten minutes he asked for a lope and only loped a few minutes before asking for a walk again. He patted the geldings neck. He stopped him in teh middle and he spun him to the left and right. He did a simply reining pattern with the stud. The horse did really good so he was going to walk him out and call it quits for today. He looked at Melinda. "How was your run?" He asked wondering if she would get nervous by him asking. He laughed to show her that he wasn't mad. He walked to her side and smiled up at her since her horse was taller then his.

As she moved Screamed around the arena she looked to find Jason smiling. So he wasn't mad at her or hadn't seen her. a small smile graced her lips as she looked at him. She moved Scream back toward the barrels as Jason moved his horse around the rail. Scream watched the other horse. Scream was good with most other horses. Stallions seemed to bug him from time to time for so odd reason. Scream snorted hard as he watched Jason and his horse. Mel asked him to move over and the gelding moved stiffly. Mel moved him off to the side out of Jason's way. She just had him stand as she watched him. she watched him spin the horse left then right. She smiled as he took the horse through a simple reining pattern. She had always wanted to teach Scream reining. As Jason moved to her and asked her something Scream did the unthinkable.

The Gelding stomped his foot. She felt his body tense as he snorted hard again. Quickly Mel grabbed the rein's and brought the gelding head to his chest just as he was about to rear. She held his head there for a moment. Without looking up she spoke to Jason. 'Jason stay back please.' Her voice came strong with a slight panic in it. She calmed Scream and asked him to back up. She dismounted and looked at Scream as he pawed the dirt hard with him front left leg. 'What is your deal today? Calm down. Jack isn't going to do nothing to you. He's not your father.' Her voice was calm yet stern. She had remebered why Scream didn't like stallions. His father had brutely attacked him one day because Mel not thinking put them in the same field with some mares. Scream was gelded at that point but his father still took him as a threat.

Mel stood and talked softly to Scream for a moment. Slowly the gelding calmed down. She looked to Jason as she remembered him asking how her run had been. 'It was great to been honest. Though could you dismount Jack and slowly walk him over here. Scream has a fear of Stallions and I wanna try and show him Jack is ok and won't hurt him.' She gripped Scream's reins and waited for Jason to say something.

Jason had asked Mel a question getting closer to her and her horse freaked out. He stopped and watched the horse for a moment then watched Mel, hoping and praying that horse didn't hurt her. He didn't think the trusty gelding would, but you never know when a horse was that angry. She began to speak to scream, trying to calm him down. She got off after the horse threw his fit and she calmed him while on the ground.

Jack was looking at the gelding rather confused. Jason stepped off when asked. She seemed a little firey at the moment and he did was he was asked. He stepped off Jack and led him toward Scream. Jack didn't do anything but walk toward him with his head low, not a care in teh world. The only time Jack acted aggresive was when Jason used the stud chain to breed mares. That's the only time the stud got to be aggressive.

Jason looked at Scream. "It's alright bud, Jack ain't gonna hurt you. " He said and patted Scream's neck. He looked at Mel. "You alright?" He asked, being his usual worried self. He looked at teh two horses and yawned a little bit. He really wasn't ready to ride that colt. He was half tempted to stick him out to pasture for a while to let him grow some more, because he was so small. He figured he would just do that. The colt was coming along nice, but he was too small to really ride and get somewhere. He sighed a little.
