-- NICKNAMES: Loves being called Kate, Rose, K Ro, Bubbles, Katie
-- AGE: 24
-- BIRTH PLACE: Aiken, South Carolina
-- ORIENTATION: Straight
-- OCCUPATION: Trainer and Equine Therapist

-- PERSONALITY
-- DRIVEN: You could also throw in Focused and Determined, but she likes to think of herself as being a Driven person. She likes order, and organization. Once she comes up with a plan, she sticks with it, and wants to see it through. That makes her a bit stubborn at times when people try to steer her another way or change something.
--COMPASSIONATE: This is Kate’s fun side! Kate has a passion for what she does, horses, horses, and oh yes…horses. She loves working with them and educating people about them. She has a true heart for helping people, and is a real down to earth kind of girl. She would rather be at the barn birthing a horse than out partying with friends. Okay, kind of gross, but you get the picture. She is a hopeless romantic, and loves being swept off her feet by the right guy.
-- DARK: Kate has a past, but then who doesn’t. She’s done things that she isn’t proud of, and she’s had things done to her that she doesn’t like to tell people. She puts on a smile to hide her feelings, and does her best to suppress her emotions when she feels hurt. Sometimes to get her to talk about her feelings you have to practically shake it out of her if she doesn’t want to talk about it. She’ll get defensive if you push her hard enough, but don’t get offended. It’s just who she is.
-- LOVES: Horses, her family, her job, cooking, a good glass of wine, Eventing, teaching new riders how to ride, training horses, photography, kids
-- HATES: douche bags, alcoholics, mistreatment of horses, ill- tempered horses, her father, gossips, having her heart broken, flying (more like terrified),snobby riders, careless owners
-- HISTORY
Katherine Rose was born to two loving parents on a cool Autumn afternoon in Aiken. Her father was a gruff and mean person at times; he often drank till he was unable to care for himself or his family, and at often times got violent. Though he never hurt a hair on Kate’s head, he did however lash out at her mother, and in turn caused many fights in the home. Kate found solace in many things growing up to escape from the world she knew. She took comfort in dance, music, and photography. Her real passion became horseback riding at the tender age of eight when her grandmother bought her a little palomino gelding named, Sunny. She started showing in little pony clubs, and 4H shows through out the area. Her mom and grandmother would stand on the sidelines and cheer on their little equestrian, yet her father rarely came to watch her. This was the first time she started to grow resentment towards him.
Growing up with a father who wasn’t around often, drove Kate to find comfort in other things around her. She still found riding as her main source of joy, but she brought in other things that took a negative effect on her. She started dating around, and sometimes slept around throughout high school when she was just 15 years old. She dabbled into drugs a bit, and it got to the point at one time she had to be hospitalized. Her mother put a stop to it, pulled her out of the public school and stuck her with a private tutor to help her clean up her act. By the time she was a senior in high school, she had raised her grades and cleaned up her act just in time to go to college. Kate was a sophomore in college at NYU, when she came home for the summer to find that her father had left her mother, and he had gone off to California with another woman. Not wanting to show her mother how hurt she was, she rose above her anger and transferred to a closer college to wrap up the final two years of college.
Kate competed more when she moved back home to help out her mom. She got sponsored through a big barn and she mainly showed their horses, and had come to care for a beautiful black mare that she nursed back to health named Jubilant. She was on the top of the world, but it suddenly came crumbling down at a show in Virginia when she took a nasty spill that injured her, and she had to have her horse put down. She was humiliated and the owners blamed her for the death of the horse. Called her a high risk rider, careless, and threatened to drop her from the team. Not wanting to go back home and face the sneers and rumors, she started a whole new life at Pinewood. What more do you want to know?

“The only thing that stands between Miss. Hudson and that title is Damian George. Look at her flying over the jumps. We still have one more rider left, but I think we have already found our champion,” commented Rick Tyree. Kate held on as she rounded the corner to the eighth jump, and only two more combinations and three jumps stood between her and possibly a perfect score. This is what she wanted, and she was bound and determined to get it. “We got this girl, we got this,” she said softly to her mare as she grabbed a tuft of mane and sailed over the water oxer. Rick’s co-host, Mary King sat and watched, smiling. “Well Rick, let’s not put the cart before the horse. There are other things that the judges are looking for other than a clear round. They are looking for accuracy, precision, and good communication between horse and rider. Traveler’s Crossing’s golden girl seems to have them all.”
Kate could almost see the finish as she pushed Jubilant harder. You could hear the mare puffing for breath, foam coming out of her mouth, and her coat shining with sweat. She went over the Chevy sponsored jump, and just almost knocking a rail over before the pole rocked back into the jump. That was close! “That was close, I was on the edge of my seat,” chuckled Rick. “And here she goes the last jump, and she will be in a tie breaker with Damian, and then they will go into a sudden death match.” Jubilant took off into a gallop, Kate trying to ease her down as they approached the last jump of the round. Kate’s eyes widened as she got closer, and she lost focus. She held tight, steering the horse away, but Jubilant went at it from an angle as she flew over. Falling to her side, Kate slamming into the second jump of the combination, and was unconscious. Jubilant neighed loudly, and came to the ground with a bang. Shattering her leg in two places, and she laid there struggling to get back to her feet. The medics rushed around Kate to revive her. “Kate… Kate Hudson,” called the medic as she opened her eyes and shined the light. “Kate…..”
Kate was immediately awoken by her phone ringing. Sitting up and rubbing her eyes, she checked the caller ID. “Morning… yes, yes I’ll there in a moment Sebastian,” she hung up her phone and stretched. It had been two years since the incident, and she still had dreams about it.
