Clean off your best show saddle, and blacken your riding boots! Pinewood is having a horse show! Kate finished putting on Jericho's leg wraps, and slipped on his fancy leather halter that had his name on it.She patted his neck and walked him out to the gooseneck, four-horse trailer around the back, and loaded Jericho in. He loaded in pretty easy, and immediately went for the hay that was hanging in front of him. She closed him in, and then her lesson student, Kylie, brought on her horse Gus, and then her other student Ethan brought on his horse. Of all her students, these two were ready to compete in the big shows, and she felt that they could do well. " Alright, you two set? Did you go over your checklists, and made sure you have everything? Cuz once this truck pulls off the road, we are not going back," she told them and heard her phone ring. She smiled and saw that it was Holten. She answered it, she couldn't wait to see him, and watch him ride. They talked till she saw her students again, and they loaded up the truck, and pulled out.
They reached the show grounds, Kate was directed where to park , and they picked up their show numbers and time sheets. She pulled in, and immediately they all got out. The horses hooves banged inside the trailer, and they were anxious to get off. Jericho neighed loudly, and kate smiled when she saw his head through the tiny porthole. Ethan and Kylie got their horses off and tied them up on the side of the trailer. Kate got Jericho off, and let him walk around, and eat some grass. His head perked up, and he called out to the other horses, and pranced around. " You silly goofball," she laughed as she patted his neck and led him over and tied him up. Kate was partially dressed in her riding uniform. She had on the barn logo shirt, and her riding breeches covered by sweat pants. That way she wouldn't get them dirty before her Dressage test. Once she was satisfied that Jericho was content, she left Kylie and Ethan to get their horses ready, and she went to the registration table to sign themselves in.
Once she was done with registration, she walked back to the truck and grabbed her shades out of the front of the truck. They were Holten's that she stole. The huge mirrored cop sunglasses. She slipped them on and walked to the mini jumping ring to watch her students warm up over the jumps. " Kylie, hands up. I told you to not hold them in your lap. You never get control that way. Ethan, good form, but count the strides in between each combination." she said as she crossed her arms and watched her students.
