Had the day really gone by that slowly? It had just a typical day. Woke up at 6, showered an dressed by 7, barn by 7:15, rode 6 horses not including her own which she rode for two hours. Maybe it was the text she got an hour ago. The text from her blind date whom she was suppoed to meet here. Hell she would of been almost an hour early if she had gone out with him, clearly shes just flying solo. Typical guy, blowing off a girl. Its not the first time this has happened. Pretty soon she's just going to give up on the whole relationship thing. Regardless of a boyfriend but even friendships. It seems they just come and go like the wind. Well theres nights like these when a girl needs to get all dressed up, just to feel good about themself as well as to show off. "Screw it," she thought. Kasha changed her whole outfit, put her sexiest black dress on, found the matching heels which made the 5'2 woman into a 5'6. Having a few drinks is her goal tonight, not to get drunk but just to have fun, even if its by herself. This ran through her mind as she let her wavy brown hair down, letting it flow naturally half way down her back before applying eyeliner, masquara, and a touch of red lipstick. Yea tonight she just don't give a damn. She grabbed a handful of money and stuffed it into her bra so no one could take it accidently. She gave her pit bull Chopper some food and more fresh water. Finally her night can begin.
It hadn't taken her long to get to the bar an with her luck Kasha had to park in the far back of the parking lot. Right where no one ever wants to park, in the sketchy edge, hopefully she'll get someone who works there to walk back out because she sure as hell isn't going to go out to her dodge dressed like this alone. Seeing how she's more in a "dressed to kill" fashion not a "dress to actually commit bodily harm," although regardless she wouldn't be shy if she did have to defend herself. Hell she used to get in fights all the time, granted its not lady like but sometimes being all lady-like isn't in the playing cards. It's a cute place, never had the chance to be in it and from the looks of things business is a booming.
Making sure no one was looking Kasha placed her keys on the inside ridge of her bumper since there wasn't a proper place to put it an she certainly wasn't going to put metal in her bra. At the door she just flashed her license, the old man smiled and let her pass on through. Weird, figured they'd want someone younger whom could actually do some damage if need be, then again it's not really anyone's place to judge. Eyes dashed around the room, "Good I'm not the only one dressed up," she thought. Then again who really cares what these people think? Its not like she knows them besides, they'll just forget her face in a few minutes and carry on with their lives. There were a few scraggly men who seemed a wee bit too shady for her likin' so making the smart choice she stood at the end of the bar. Catching eyes with the bar tender she hollared through the rowdy noice, "um..marshmellow vodka an two shots of jack daniels." God how she loves the way they both make her stomach all warm an cozy inside. "Just me,myself, an I. Clearly doing a lot with my life,"
she thought while sighing, "what a thrilling Saturday night, on the plus side tomorrows my only day off in a month.."[/blockquote][/blockquote] 679 TAG; Kegan NOTES; hi haha sorry this post sucks CREDITS; credit to callie![/ul]

The fiery rays of the sun burned at Kegan's back. He's tapped his heels into Kidd's side as the headed to the barn from a long day of moving cattle. Kidd's pace formed into a well rounded gallop as Kegan let him have the reins. The pair loved to just run across the fields after a long day of work. A grin pressed into Kegan's lips as his brown eyes spotted one of his ranch hands outside working around the barn. Kegan picked up the reins and moved Kidd toward the men. As soon as he was almost at the men kegan drop his hands to the horn and sat back. Instantly Kidd's hind end drop and the stallion slid to a stop just before the men. Ross jumped back and to yell at Kegan as soon as he realized it was him. 'Damn you, Kegan! Your gonna give one us ranch hands a heart attack one one day doing.' Kegan laugh hard and yelled to him as he stormed away. 'Oh don't get all mad, Ross. I'd never do that. It was just a joke.' Kegan watched the man wave his words away. Kegan shook his head with a grin on his lips.
Kegan dismounted his horse and lead him into the barn. Kidd chewed on his bit as he looked around. Kidd had a habit of doing it from boredom. Kegan pulled him up at the door of the tack room and dropped the reins. He moved to Kidd side to untaught the cinch. Kidd took in a deep breath as Kegan removed the saddle and pad from his back. Kegan stepped around him and into the tack room. He placed them in there right places. He walked back to Kidd and removed the bridle. He put it away as well. Kegan patted the stud's neck and walked toward the barn door. 'Come on, Kidd. Let's take you the pasture to enjoy yourself.' The completely untacked stud snorted then followed him. Kegan's had trained him to follow him without a lead. The pair moved out of the barn and down the fence line to the gate of Kidd Pasture. Kegan opened the gate to allow Kidd to go in. Kegan smiled as Kidd trotted into the pasture and took off to the other end.
He pulled out his phone from his pocket. The time flashed five on the screen. He stuffed the phone back in his pocket as he sighed. Time to head up to the house and get ready for his "real" job. Kegan pulled his tan cowboy hat off and ran his fingers through his dark brown hair. He headed to his truck as his mind wondered. He loved to work at Ro's Bar and Grill but some night's were harder than most after losing Megan. He had met her at Ro's as a Bartender. He bit down on his bottom lip as memories of the night had spent at Ro's flashed through his mind. He quickly moved to his truck and got in. He slammed the door and turned the key. The truck came to life and he throw it into drive. He took off toward his house at the back of the ranch.
Kegan slid to a stop in his drive and cut off the truck. He stomped up the step and into the house. He headed straight for the kitchen. He poared him at shot Jack as soon as he made it to the counter. He throw it and breathed as his hands gripped the edge of the counter. He tried to control the memories. He wanted them to leave him be. Oh how her face haunted his soul. He turned around quickly as he throw the shot glass across the room. The echoed with a painful like groan as the glass shattered against the wall. He walked up the stairs to his master bedroom. He throw his hat on the bed and headed to the bathroom. He turned on the shower and undressed.
After get himself together with about a twenty minute shower he stepped out the bathroom. He dried off. He pulled on his fairly tight black short sleeved shirt and a pair of wrangler blue jeans. He pulled on his boots and walked over to the bed. He grabbed his hat; placed it on his head. He headed down stairs and out the door. He climbed into his truck. He turned over the engine and backed out the driveway. It was about to be a long hour drive into town to Ro's. He turned the radio and tried not to think to much.
Soon he found himself pulling into Ro's parking lot. He pulled around to the back to park like always. He climbed out his truck and locked it. He put the keys in the toolbox before heading in. He walked in and head to the bar. He step in behind the bar counter to clock in for the night. He moved around the bartenders as not to get in their way. He clocked about the time he turned around two guys standing a little ways from the bar start throwing punches on each other. 'Yup. It's gonna be one helluva a night tonight.' The words flow from his mouth as he jumped over the bar. He made his way to the fight and start to break it up.

The liquor seemed to hit the right spot, or was it just the way it had the easy ability to warm you to the core? Regardless it had magic fingers in making you lighten up. Ha lighten up. Two simple words that are easily said than done, though there are a lot of sayings such as that that are easier said than done. Or maybe it just takes a lifetime to figure these things out? Jesus a life time seems too long, or does it go by too fast? After all old folks say that life has the ability to flash before your eyes, before you know it you've lost you youth and sitting in a crappy little nursing home in which you Loving children desided to put you in since your too much of a hassle for them to care for you personally. But for now liquor will have to do the satisfying around here since it doesn't look like a real friend never or less a true good ol' boy is going to fufill anything in anytime soon.
Out of her periferals she could see some toothless old men grilling her. A shiver ran through her whole body, ew just how could a man of that age have a full mental thought that they'd get with her? Don't get her wrong she sure as hell isn't conseeded by any means but when do you see any smart 20 somethin' year old leaving a bar to have some 'fun' with an upper 40 year old? There isn't enough liquor in this bar to get her to do that. Granted she isn't even here with any intent on leaving with someone, it has certainly been quite some time since that's ever happened but she isn't a foolish girl anymore shes a developing independent woman who'd now easily get attached to someone in the blink of an eye.. After all, her mother married at a young age, younger than Kasha is now to a man who Kasha can't believe was her mothers soul mate, and all Kasha's ever wanted was to be like her mother. But before that can even come close to happening perhaps it would be a lot wiser to gain a few more friends of the two legged kind since the four legged seem to be all the family she's ever going to gain.
A light chuckle escaped her lips as "Pretty good at drinking beer" played softly over the massive volume of voices. Its a wonder she could even hear it. Looking down at the shots she had previously ordered she knew this would lead to a good time. This certainly wouldn't make her drunk since she isn't a light weight, beer pong helped with that along with many other drinking games but thats a part of her life she doesn't generally show. The part of her life when she was fun and actually had more two legged friends than four legged friends, back when she could easily list her friends names but that had ended quickly. Quickly she brought each shot to her lips and downed them quickly. Her eyes crossed one of the gazing mens eyes, hasn't he seen a woman drink before? Seeing the bartender she waved two fingers and pointed to the glass in which had previously contained the marshmellow vodka, he nodded and began pouring the drink again.
While taking a few dollars out of her bra she noticed two men beginning to raise their voices with eachother. Sliding the cash across the counter she took the new glass that the bartender put down after her moved all the empty shot glasses she had just gone through. After taking a sip she set it down before the men regained her attention since a womans voice yelled out, "Guys stop, please don't make a scene..." It was obvious that one was drunk, a spot on guess would indicate that one was her husband since they appeared to have matching rings an the other guy whom she was blocking him from seemed to either be A-someone on the side or B-someone stupid enough to try to catch a married woman. Kasha's bet was on him being her man on the side since that seems to be the new norm in this day in age. Shaking her head Kasha just could never figure out how someone could easily be officially married or dating someone while having an affair or just plain old cheating behind the other's back. There's no logical point in which someone should ever do that to another person. But what the hell does she know, she doesn't know that womans story, maybe she has good reasons too. Although theres only one possible good reason to and that would be if her husband was beating her or something along those lines. Who knows.
Just as they seemed to be settling down the taller man pushed the woman to the side and started brawling. People backed off as if they were a plague. Her eyes narrowed as she noticed a third party participating. At first it seemed as if he were participating but at second glace it was clear he was breaking up the stupid dispute. If it hadn't been for him the fight would most likely go to the death from the looks of the married man's eyes. Who's ballsy enough to stop a fight like that? Certainly it must not be a local. She studied the man's actions, a bouncer. Has to be. Her brow raised as she couldn't help but check him out. Hey it isn't every day you see a good looking cowboy with all his teeth intact. She pit her lip as she could tell his shirt was nicely snug in all the right places as well as his jean. She couldn't help but smile at that thought. Maybe she should lay off the alcohol.

As Kegan got closer to the fighting men he noticed it was over a women. He shook his head and stepped in. A fist make contact with his shoulder. He did his best to push them apart. 'Ok you drunk men. Listen. You can gladly take this down the road or I'll drag the both of you out the back and kick both your asses for you.' His voice came loud and deep. His strong country accent as alway clear in his words. The one who Kegan had thought to have seen throw the first punch backed off. It was the married men, Kegan figured seeing the ring on his finger glisten in the dime lighting, that tried to charge through him. Kegan set his feet and grabbed the man's shoulder. 'Sir, You need to calm down. I don't want to have to hurt you.' The focus of the man weakened and Kegan seen it all in his. Kegan figured the women was his wife. Kegan's mind flashed to memories of Megan. Her laughing. Her in his arms. Her smile. Every little thing he'd loved about the women rushed to his mind. Kegan looked back up as the men yelled to the women. 'Kelly its fucking over. Over you hear me.' Kegan stepped away as the men turned and walked away.
Kegan walked kinda dazed to where he normal sat on the far end of the bar. Megan flashed back into his mind. His jaw clenched tight as his mind remember the night he got the life changing call. He was about to get off his shift and call Megan. His mom caalled him crying. He'd asked what had been wrong. It took her a minute to get it out but as the words registered in his mind he had dropped to his knees. It had been worst then like someone had punched him in the stomach. His hands turned to fist in his lap. The memory torn through him as if it was happening at the very moment. He tried to push it all away as her turn on the stool. 'James, shot of jack, please.' His voice was a bit strained as he called to his coworker. Jame walked over shaking his head. He looked around and kept his voice kinda low as he spoke. 'Kegan! Boss with kill you if he knows your drinking the job.' Kegan looked up to him. James seen the burning flame in his brown eyes. 'Please. I just need one shot. Just to easy my mind.'
James without looking at Kegan made the shot and sat before him as he walked away. James had be a few of the one who had watched Kegan break down before them that night, so James in a way understood. Kegan throw back the shot and took a deep breath. He slowly truned back around to keep an eye on the crowd. As he did a female in a black dress caught his eye a little ways down the bar. He look at her from the corner of his eyes. He noted that the dress hugged ever curve of her body. Those red lips. Damn. She to be no more that maybe 24. He also noted he'd probably need to keep an eye on her. Drunks guy would more than likely be tring to take her home. Kegan stood looking for James. He was making her another drink. A grin pulled at the corners of his lips. He picked up his shot glass and walked over to them. He stopped few stools down from her.
'Here James. I'm going to the other side of the bar to check things out if the others need me.' His voice was kinda loud so James could hear him over the music. His voice flowed with ever strong country accent. He turned to the glance at the women. The index finger and finger moved up to grabbed the end of his cowboy hat as he nodded to her. Kegan found himself lingering there for a moment. What was he doing? He should just walk away but he just could pull himself from the pretty face and those beautiful blue almost green looking eyes. A grin formed on his lips. 'Hey there.' He moved and sat down to the stool next to hers.

She just couldn't believe that the men didn't brawl more. Hell if she was in any situation of that short she'd have no problem kicking someone's ass, correction anyone's ass regardless of height and sex. When she see's red then you best be get to stepping out of her way, she's like a freight train off the tracks by that point its hopeless for a sucessful calm return to sanity. By then you may as well just give up and watch the show unfold since she can put on quite the show. Just her brazilian side kickin in, well mostly it is the same anger issue her father had just a tad bit more extreme seeing how she's a women and a lot of brazilian women are headstrong and die hards. They'll easily fight tooth and nail just to prove that they are right even if they know in their heart that they are wrong it is damn near impossible for them to admit a loss.
Her eyes remained on this mystery man. Mmm there is nothing more intriguing than a man with a cowboy hat on. Sure it may be strange but thats just her way of thinking since in the movies the cowboy is always suppose to be the hero, the savior, the guardian, the family man,...the one who saves the woman in destress. This broad is sure as hell in destress. There aren't days that go by when she contemplates dropping everything she has and disappearing. Its not like anyone would miss her. Its not like anyone would even notice that shes gone. She's just a plain Jane, well aside from being a lot tanner than a lot of these pale folks from these parts as well as aside from her portuguese accent that is dull then really strong at some points. But guess its better to be different than being like everyone else, having differences is suppose to set us apart from eachother right? But don't some differences really set us apart from the norm? Or maybe thats just what parents tell their children to make them feel better when in all reality they are freaks.
As usual she bit her bottom lip while she thought about this man. He certainly seemed like the rescuing type. Gee golly would she love to be rescued by him. She had to look away from him since her mind was slowly being consumed by alcohol. God how could she think things like that about someone she doesn't know? Better yet about someone who might just possibly be involved with someone. Now that is wrong. You shouldn't have thoughts about another woman's man. Plus that means you have to deal with that particular broad if she finds out. Although there may be a slim to none chance that this fine catch is single. Maybe a friend will be gained soon. Well in order to find any of this talking to the man is required.
Hearing someone approaching she turned her attention toward it, come to find him sitting next to her after he tipped his hat towards her. She blushed slightly, what the hell is sh doing?! She isn't a school girl anymore shes a maturing woman who just happened to be starting a conversation with the only man who has really caught her attention since she's been in the states. No biggie. She hoped he hadn't seen her foolish act of innosense. Taking her drink in her hand she spoke kindly with a soft smile, "what is it all in a days work saving damsels in destress? or are you just trying to show off?" Her portuguese accent flowed a little stronger towards the end, god how she hated it. A playful spark lit in her eyes while she gave him a playful hard time about his save a moment ago. In a swift motion she brought the glass to her lips, sipped, then placed it back down on the counter. Kasha straightened in the highly uncomfortable stool while crossing her legs at the knee, not realizing her dress was showing a little more skin but whatever. Shit happens.

Kegan smile as her cheeks flushed a shade of red. It was cute. Much women did it when he just looked at them. Guess Kegan had something about him that seem to make girls weak in the knees to say. He couldn't for the life of him figure out why. He was nothing more that a old ranch working country cowboy. He watched as her hand gripped her glass as she picked it up. "what is it all in a days work saving damsels in destress? or are you just trying to show off?" Her red lips turned into a soft smile as she had spoke. He laughed at her words. He'd been only doing his job. He had noticed her foregin accent. It brought a playful grin on his face. 'I've never been really one to show off honest, ma'am. Just part of the job. I hang around for several hours to make sure no one gets hurt.' He paused for a moment to look at her. 'But if there's ever a damsel in destress I'll be there to save them.' His country accent thick as always as his words ended with grin on lips.
He looked to the crowd for a moment. His mind chewed on what would come of this night. His eyes cut to the side tracing the women next to him. She was sitting her glass after she took a slip of her drink. She gracefull looking body shifted in the chair as she crossed her legs. Her dress rode up her legs showing a bit skin. His eyes froze for a moment them he looked back to the crowd. What could he say he was a man. After a moment he turned back to her. Country Boy by Luke Bryan came on. He tapped his boot to the beat against the stool. 'So if you don't mind me ask what brings you here tonight? I mean Ro's is great and all, but...I don't mean any bad but you jsut seem like a girl that enjoys a little more fun than this.' He watched her for a moment before looking back to the crowd to check on things.
[[Sorry it's so short. I really wanted to get something up for you. If you can't work with it let me know and I try and add more.]]

Setting the glass on the counter she listened to his thick country accent as he spoke. A brow rose as he talked about not showing off. She smiled before looking back up at him grinning, "Now now, I'm certain you do show off. I mean isn't that a man does? You guys show off for women. Now that's a fact." Maybe showing off isn't the exact word for it but there is a point in a mans life where he does act different aka shows off just to be able to get the damsel. Isn't that what happens? Certainly men do show off at bar's to get a woman into bed although sometimes neither party really does much since their only intent is to have a good time.
She watched him watch everyone in the place since that is his job as a bouncer, to know everything thats happening and to watch out for the trouble makers. Her eyes studdied the man before her much more closely. Her eyes followed his strong jaw line and led up to his soft looking eyes. His body language read off as a strong capable man despite something hidden that seemed to be bothering him but she wasn't going to question it since it seems as if it is something that would never be discussed with any stranger such as herself. She certainly isn't the pushy type so she hadn't felt the need to ask. Least not ask just yet, maybe she will ask in the future if they become friends or whatnot. Whenever the time is right unless it was just the way he felt today, as if he's just on edge. Who knows.
She caught him looking over at her so she looked away. She hadn't realised that she had been staring rudely. Looking over the crowd for a moment before she looked back at him as he spoke. A grin spred across her lips when he pushed on about her intentions here. "I ah, I was blown off on a blind date that one of my clients had set me on. By the time I was informed of it I was already dressed up and figured I might as well go out since I haven't had the chance to since I've gotten here." She couldn't help but chuckle at what he had said about her seeming like she basically hadn't seemed as if she didin't belong here at this bar. Least thats what she took of it. "Well I don't really get the chance to go out much. I'd rather to just have a beer or whatnot at home relaxing than be out or camping under the stars. I don't prefer anything too spiffy, guess I'm just not high mantance like a lot of people these days." Realizing that she hadn't even intoduced herself she spoke again, "By the way I'm Kasha, haven't really been here that long. Not going to lie but its a little weird when everyone here knows everyone else. I'm not really used to that." It is annoying when everyone else knows each other so they refuse to talk to the new girl. Not like she's all that complaining since she is used to being solo but its obnoxious when people just stare and not introduce themselves, its not like shes a forgin alien. Least she had this man to talk to.
