OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Elyse's personality is hard to explain. She can be really postive and bouncy sometimes but other times she is dark and moody. Elyse has had a rough childhood and she has learned to mask her pain and upset very well. Most of the time, she is masking what she really feels. That is just the way she is. Elyse is very wary of people hence her background. She was taught to never fully trust people and old habits die hard.
Elyse never gets fully attached to anyone. She is always declining invites places. She feels that is best because she never knows when her mother will come back for her. She needs to be ready to go with a moments notice. She is actually scared of horses, well any animal that is bigger than her. When Elyse gets moody, she is no fun to be around, she always puts a damper on everything. But when she is happy and postive, it is the life of the party for her and the people around her.
Elyse has never known how to interact with people because of her mom. She has it set in her mind that most people will want to sabotage her. She is insecure about herself and coming to a new school all about riding and she has no clue how to ride. She justs feels insecure and wary of this whole situation.

SIBLINGS: Foster sister- Katie Jones
OTHER FAMILY: N/A

OVERALL HISTORY:
Before Elyse was born, her mother was unreliable and her father wasn't any better. Her father took off when she was three. Her mother had a hard time taking care of Elyse on her own. Elyse only had her mother and she wasn't a stable person. She would go out every night and leave Elyse alone while she went to clubs. Elyse and her mom were constantly moving places. As Elyse grew up, she never got the chance to be the kid, she was always being the mother to her own mother when she came home drunk and upset.
Elyse never got to have any friends over because her mother didn't want any attachments to that town when they would have to leave. Elyse's mother hated working. She would always get crappy jobs that payed next to nothing. Whenever they moved, Elyse's mother never used her legal name, always giving a fake name so old landlords wouldn't be able to track her when she was behind on the rent.
When Elyse was 13 years old, her mother abandoned her in the little red house they were currently living in. She only thought her mom would be gone for a few days, which she usually did but when a month had passed, she wasn't so sure anymore. Elyse was okay for the first year but then she started to get behind on the rent and some of the machines were starting to break. Being only fourteen at the time, she had no clue how bad she was living. It was then six months later when she sat sitting in social services office that she realized how bad it actually was.
Elyse stayed in foster care for a few months. She never really settled in at the Jones's house, not that it was bad or anything, she just couldn't. After a few weeks, she started to notice a lot of boarding school brochures lying around. One day she caught Ms. Jones calling Pinewood Academy confirming Elyse's stay. Elyse was assured that she would absolutely love horses and boarding school. And now not even 2 weeks later, she is at Pinewood ready to start her whole life over

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:
*from www.canterwoodcrest.proboards.com
I walked into the pizza place on campus feeling down. My dad had just called to tell me that he had a business trip over the march break and I would have to find a place to stay. Little did he know I hated this place and all the people. They were too "cool" to hang out with the new girl on campus. Even though I had come in the middle of the term no one thought to help me out. And the girl who met me at the stable left after she offered to help me! I was starting to get the impression that every girl and guy here were stuck up and didn't care about anyone but themselves. Maybe this wasn't the place for me.
I walked up to the counter and ordered a slice of bacon and cheese pizza and an iced tea. I paid my fee and turned and sat in the nearest booth. I slid over so that people wouldn't see me if they walked by. I was literally hugging the wall. I ate my slice in complete silence watching people having fun and socializing. I really wished I could do that. But I was the new girl and every one would think I'm weird trying to fit in. Maybe I'll just become a hermit and live the rest of my life depressed. I gulped down the rest of my drink and sat back to take in my surroundings.
The booths were the tacky red and white squares with black cushiony seats. The floor was a neutral beige color and the mats near the front door were muddy and wet. The signs and menus were your typical eye catching ugly signs. Overall this place was a fun cheesy place to hang with friends. Not a place where loners like me hung out. I heaved a sigh. It was really boring without friends at this place. There was so much to do but most of it you wouldn't be able to do or it just wouldn't be fun to do it alone.
I decided I seriously needed to think about what my options were. One, I could stay here and be upset all the time, two, I could leave this place and go back to my hometown or three I could suck it up and pretend to like this place and try to make friends. I groaned. I slid back in the booth and rested my head on the table top. I closed my eyes and didn't think. I felt someone walked by and hesitate by my booth. " Go away" I muttered sounding like I was crying. I then closed my eyes again not caring if that person had left.
