Physical description: With slender build and large facial features Hayden is considered very pretty. Hayden considers herself to look like any other person and sees nothing special about her. Her eyes and lips pop, her face and her hair also catches your eye. Hayden was an awkward child; her body was long but her face short. It didn’t seem to fit and because of this Hayden was usually self-conscious.
Her legs are long and her arms long also. Her breasts aren’t overly big but by no means small. Her torso seems very small as does her arm width. Overall Hayden is pretty but because she’s not big on make-up or revealing clothes no one really can tell.

OVERALL PERSONALITY: Hayden is closed up most of the time. She has a short temper and is quick to hold a grudge. Like most people she has her exceptions. She is a nice person deep down, she just has trust issues. A huge problem is that she doesn’t trust herself and that’s the first step to trusting others.
When Hayden’s in a good mood she’s very sarcastic, but in a playful way. She loves to poke fun at people but never bully. She can be reckless but isn’t over the top. It’s hard to describe Hayden because she’s so contradicting. She’s like a bomb and sometimes candy pops out and sometimes deadly fumes.

OVERALL HISTORY: Hayden was born in the upper part of Maine. Her mother and father lived in a large house that had a huge back yard. They lived in a neighborhood that was about 30 minutes away from the central town. Hayden was the couple’s first child and there only planned child. When Hayden was 2 years of age her mother became pregnant with her ‘accident’ sister Annabel. After Annabel was born the family decided to move to a place better for children. They headed for Connecticut and settled there.
When Hayden was 5 years old her parents had another ‘accident’ child. This time a boy named Markus. Hayden’s mother decided she needed to help support her family and took up a job. Hayden and her brother were dropped off at a day care every morning. Annabel was sent to a special day care that cost twice as much because she had separation problems, because of the constant time with her brother the two became close.
At the age of 13 Hayden began to ride horses. It was nothing big, it had only started because Hayden’s friend rode horses and it seemed fun. She took a beginner class at an old stable. Hayden enjoyed riding but never thought of it more then just fun. She wasn't obsessed until she was 15. When she turned 15 all she wanted to do was go to the stable, she liked being around horses but she craved being at the stable. Her parents became very worried, as did her brother. She was nervous herself but never showed it.
The obsessing continued for another year. During this time period her mother took her to a therapist and tried to find out what was wrong with her daughter. At one point she even took medicine. Doctors just said it was a phase but both Hayden and her family knew it was something else. Also during this time Hayden became more and more closed up. She became touchy and angry too. Her mother checked her several times for drugs but found nothing.
One day Hayden went to the stable like any other day. She was 16 at the time and a pretty good rider. Because of Hayden’s absents from school and her becoming closed up she had never had a boyfriend, or even a crush. She walked in through the door and turned toward the aisle. She spotted one of the stable hands, Amber, kissing a boy. Amber had been at the stable since Hayden had begun riding and she always admired her. Amber wasn’t to much older then Hayden, only two years.
When Hayden saw Amber in that moment she knew what had been wrong for the past year. She was in love. With Amber. She was very confused and ran out of the stables. She closed up more then ever and refused to go to the stables or talk to anyone. After 4 months of not talking, her parents decided to do something. They had already tried therapy sessions and meds but nothing at worked. They decided to give Hayden a gift.
Hayden’s parents dragged her into the car and drove her to the stable. Once she saw where they were going she screamed and tried to open the car door to jump out. She couldn’t face Amber. The car halted but it was to late they were already at the stable. Hayden took off toward the main road. A black horse in the field beside her raced along with her. She looked back once but her parents were just standing there. She looked over at the horse and saw a large red bow tied to his neck. She skidded to a stop and looked at the bow.
It was her horse. After that day she slowly began to open up again, but never as much as she was before. She went back to the stable to care for her new horse and went back to school.
When Hayden was 17 she meet a boy named Liam and fell in love. The two dated through the rest of high school and Hayden decided she was bisexual. Hayden and Liam broke up just before Hayden decided where she was going to collage. She decided to enroll at “Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center School”. Once she got to the school she decided she hated the stable there. She found Pinewood and went there.
She told her parents about being bisexual and there were so freaked out they wanted Hayden to drop out of school and come back to Connecticut. Hayden refused so the family packed up there things and moved to West Virginia. Her parents threatened not to give her tuition if she didn’t live with them, so she did. [/color][/font]

I slipped into my olive colored breeches and pulled my strawberry riding gloves over my hands. I grabbed my blue crop from my dresser and pulled open the door to my dorm. After the short walk to the stables I headed toward the longer aisle. I walked toward Wind's stall and tried to smile. Wind and I had our first official ride three days ago, and it didn't go as planned. He bucked me four times and bolted three. He refused nearly all the jumps and reared once. I wasn't going to lose hope. I knew this was the horse for me. The only thing that keep me going was when we were alone and on the ground. When it was just me and him in his stall he was the sweetest horse I'd ever meet. I really believed he loved me as much as I loved him. I looked up and down the aisle twice before opening the stall door. Wind nickered softly and head-butted my stomach. I grinned and scratched the sides of his face and lead him out of his stall. When I closed his stall door another horse walked down the aisle and he suddenly threw his head up and stamped his hoof. I sighed as I clipped him into cross ties. Wind was in the pasture all day rolling so I had come early to groom him. I picked up the green plastic curry comb from his blue grooming kit and began to make small circles around his body. It loosened the dried up mud and dirt from his coat. Next I took the hard brush and ran it over his body, this would remove the loosened dirt from his coat. Next the soft brush was to make his coat shine. I pulled out three tangles from his tail and two from his mane then I finished it off with a damp cloth around his face. He sparkled as I went to grab his tack. We had a showcase coming up at Canterwood so Wind's tack sparkled just like his coat. I put a bright red saddle pad on his withers then pushed it down in the direction of the hair. Next out new chestnut saddle was placed on top. I reached under his belly to grab the girth then tightened it a few holes. Wind stood still mostly because there was only one other horse in the aisle and it was four cross ties away. Once his legs were wrapped in matching bright red leg wraps and his bridle was in place I unclipped his cross ties pulled off his halter (which is hard to do since he was wearing his bridle over it) and began to lead him toward the indoor ring. I walked into the arena and saw Mr. Connor on horseback. He and Lexington trotted around the ring. Amber (another rider in my class) was mounting her black arabian Thunder as I caught site of Mr. Connor chest. There was a black protective vest over it which meant cross-country. I turned around and headed back toward the tack room. As I clipped my own yellow and black proactive vest around my upper body I walked back toward the ring. Once I was safely on Wind's back I urged him into a trot to begin warming up. I held hard with my thighs and sat to the trot. We circled the arena twice before I began to post. I watched Nicole and her morgan Flower walk in right after Angie and her quarter horse Ella walked in. I decided Wind was getting antsy with the same old thing so I asked him for a slow canter. Wind powered forward and speed up with each stride. I half halted him quickly before releasing and flowing back into a slow canter. Finally Alicia and her paint gelding Teddy walked in. Once they were mounted I slowed Wind and moved toward the middle of the ring. Mr. Conner's loud booming voice said, "Today we are going out to the south cross country course. I see all of you have your protective vests but that doesn't mean we should take this any less seriously. Cross country is very dangerous and should always be done with at least one panther. Now fall into line and follow me to the course. Lexi and Amber because both of your horses spook easily why don't you come closer to Lexington and me. I fell in line behind amber who was behind Mr. Conner. We took the five minute walk over the crunchy grass to a descending slope here Mr. Conner halted Lexington. "We will be taking the bushes and the picnic table before going into the woods. In the forest you will encounter a fallen tree, two streams, a slow metal gate, and at the end you must canter up a hill. I will take the short way and meet you girls around at the end. The first person will go and the next person will count to 75 before going." Mr. Conner said. He turned his attention to Angie who was the last in line, "If we don't see you within a minute after Nicole I'll circle around after you." Angie nodded. "Good Luck" Mr. Conner said then cantered around the bush jump and toward the left of the forest. Amber moved her horse into a canter and headed for the bush jump. Thunder took it with ease and powered toward the white picnic table. Nicole pulled herself into two point and they sailed over the jump. Thunder took long strides forward and disappeared into the forest. I began counting in my head, '1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12........etc.' Once I reached 70 I began to prep. I stiffened my seat and re-grasped the reins. I hit the number 75 and squeezed Wind's sides. He began to canter flawlessly down the slope and toward the jump. 2 strides before the jump I lifted out of the saddle and Wind popped over the jump. When we hit the ground Wind tossed his head and increased his speed. We took the picnic table with the same skill and headed into the forest. I slowed Wind to a slow canter as we headed through the trees. I slowed Wind from a canter to a trot as I saw mud ahead. Wind spotted the mud to and just before we reached it halted suddenly. I slammed forward onto his neck and frowned. I gave him a hard kick but he didn't move. Another kick then a hit with the crop. He tossed his head and danced through the mud. I laughed and moved him into a canter again. I a saw a fallen tree block the path up ahead and moved Wind into a faster canter. I pulled myself out of the saddle and hovered my hands above Wind's neck. He collected himself then soared over the tree jump. He tossed his head when we hit the ground and let out a little popping buck. It wasn't enough to unseat me but I still tightened the reins letting Wind know to behave. I saw a creek up ahead and began to apply more pressure to Wind's sides. He powered toward the creek letting me know he wasn't planning to duck out. That was the problem. We were supposed to splash through the creek then climb up the side not jump it! If he jumped he could seriously hurt himself but if I pulled him up he got what he wanted. We neared the jump and 3 strides away I pulled Wind up. He tossed his head in victory and crab stepped. I sighed an thought about what to do. I if I waited too long Alicia might catch up to me. I decided Wind was getting through the creek if it killed me. I kicked Wind's sides but he didn't move. I hit him with the crop and moved backwards. I hit him again and he took three steps forward toward the bank. I kicked him and he backed up again. Once more with the crop and he canted through the water as fast as possible. He shook off his mane splashing me with water once we hit land but I didn't care, we had gotten through the creek. We cantered around a corner and were faced with a small and thiner stream. This was meant to be jumped so Wind wouldn't have trouble. He cantered toward it just like any jump and popped over it a little too much. We hit the ground and flew out of the forest. I spotted Mr. Conner and Amber at the top of the hill but I moved my attention to the metal gate. Wind began to slow, unsure of the scary jump, I urged him forward with my seat and we jumped over it. Our landing wasn't the prettiest but this was our first cross country course together. He cantered up the hill not loosing a bit off speed and came to a trot then walk once we reached the top."Good job Lexi. Wind was unsure about that last jump but you kept him going. Make sure he doesn't always rush home though, he speed up that final hill. Did you have any other troubles." Mr. Conner said. "Yeah we got just a little held up at that mud hole and had lots of trouble at the creek we had to splash through. I'll work with him on getting dirty and not being scared of water." Mr. Conner nodded but focused on Alicia who tore out of the forest. I looked behind Wind at the sun. Once Alicia had gotten her comments and Angie had come up the hill we headed back toward the stables. "Cool off your horses. Good practice everyone." Mr. Connor said as he dismounted Lexington. I loosened Wind's girth and walked him around the arena. Once he was cool I walked him to his stall and untacked him. I ran a wet cloth over his body and kissed his muzzle. "Later boy" I said. I dropped his tack off in the tack room and threw his leg wraps and saddle pad in the laundry. I pushed the on button and watched the washer machine swirl. I left the stables and headed for my dorm.
