KALYPSO
Owner Name: Parker Townsend
Owner Age: Twenty
Owner Occupation: Barn Manager/ Business Man
Other Horses? Foxglove
---------------------------------------------------------
Registered name: Kalypso
Barn Name: Kaly
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color: Dark Bay/ Black
Age: 5
Gender: Mare
Height: 16.3 hds
Personality Description: Being a Townsend horse now you could bet that there was something... intriguing about Kalypso. She wasn't stuck up or snooty like Foxy she was intense, fiesty, and fierce. Kalypso was a firecracker waiting to be lit and she would use anything as an excuse to blow up. Someone looking at her the wrong way, a bird chirping, heck a piece of grass blowing by would set this horse off in an instant. She was tough to handle on the ground and not much changed when you got on her she chomped at the bit and would love nothing more to take off and leave you in the dust. If horses could scowl you could bet that she would be the majority of the time... it was always more than clear when she was unhappy and she was unhappy more often than not. The thing with her though was she was stunning and appeared sweet but the moment you were close enough to bite she would. Kaypso was a cunning, devilish mare and you would be wise to steer clear of her.
History: Kalypso was born in an expensive barn with great bloodlines her sire was a race track hero a horse of great stamina. Her dam was sweet an sleek also great on the race track. But Kalypso was far from sweet and far from a race track hero. Viscious from the start she had spunk and quite a sour disposition. They started with a gentle approach at training trying to coax her into submission... but over several different attempts at several different training techniques they hit a firm hand at trying to force her into it. They forced a saddle on her, used the whip, and tried to run her into submission. Nothing worked on this horse she was resilient, she wouldn't back down. So they gave up. By now she was ridable... if thats what you wanted to call it. She would saddle with some persistance on the person's part she would stand to be mounted with a firm hand. Although she did like to dance about for a while. She would snort and stamp her foot in protest letting you know all the while that she didn't like what was going on and had no intention of letting you win easily.
They put her on the market knowing full and well that no one in their right mind would want this horse. Which was exactly why Parker got her... he wasn't in his right mind. Well that and he saw what they couldn't see. Her previous owner's, whom he knew very well actually, couldn't see what Parker saw because all they saw was a raceless, dangerous, stubborn mule. But Parker saw her in a different light. Sure all that was true... she was a fighter. Kalypso was competitive and they placed a challenge in front of her everytime they attempted to tame her. Not only was she one heck of a good looking horse, but she reminded Parker of himself. The moment he walked into their barn to look at her he knew he wanted her and Parker always got what he wanted. This Horse would be a challenge to work with but there was nothing like a challenge that everyone thought was unwinnable.
