Miley was getting out of bed. She had to ride Flicka on the trails today. She had promised her when she dropped her off the other day. She went into the bathroom in the house she and her brother were renting. She turned the shower on and stepped in just to wake herself up with the hot water. She got out and went back to her room knowing Mathew slept through everything she did this early. She got changed into her white jeans she used for western. Her red t-shirt that had her favourite person on the back, Justin McBride. She pulled on a sweater she normally wore on over top. She pulled socks on before pulling her black boots on.
Looking at the time she grabbed her hat, car keys, purse and cell phone. She left the house and got into her chevorlet camaro that her brother bought her. She started the car, put her seat belt on and backed out of the drive way. She got driving and listening to Justin McBride on the radio. She sang along and glanced at the clock in her car. She had to be fast with tacking Flicka and feeding her other horses.
She pulled into a parking spot outside the barn and killed the engine. She got out, leaving her purse inside. Her cell was on silence in the pocket on her sweater. She entered the barn seeing the lights on already knowing some one had been inside already. She went and grabbed hay flakes, four of them. She went to her four horses and feed them. She then entered the tack room to grab her western tack. She set it down outside Flicka's stall. "Okay, girl. Just like I promised" she said. Flicka tossed her head. The mare loved going out riding with Miley.
Flicka wasn't easy to handle without full control. So, Miley cross tied her and started with the saddle as she was still eating hay. She placed the red blanket on her back first and lifted the big western saddle onto her back. She made sure it was center before reaching under to grab the clinch to tighten it in place but only enough to allow the mare to finish eating.
Once Flicka finished the last bit she finished tightening the clinch before moving to quickly revmoe the halter. She slipped the western bridle onto her head. Over her perked forward in interest ears. She tightened the throat latch and checked it before moving the reins over her neck. She rested her hat on her head and lead Flicka outside. "You better listen today, Flicka. I don't need to be thrown to the ground again" she said.
Outside Miley got up onto Flicka without a problem. They moved into the trails. Flicka stayed relaxed and listening to Miley's commands. "Okay, big girl. Let's run" she said. Flikca heard her and felt the reins loosen in her hands. She trotted now before moving into a canter. She was liking this. She then finally got into a gallop and Miley just moved with her. Miley always controled with one hand. It was easy.
Finding an on track and sloowed Flicka down seeing someone on it with a horse and a dog walking with them. So, she got Flicka to walk onto the track and over to them. She sighed knowing this was something she's never done before. She got close. "Hello there" she said.
